Privacy Policy
Effective date:
This policy explains what information Pallanguzhi (the website at pallanguzhi.onepointfivepixels.com and the iPhone and Android apps) collects, why, and the choices you have. Pallanguzhi is made by One Point Five Pixels, Bengaluru, India.
The short version
- There are no accounts. You never give us your name, email or phone number to play.
- Your game settings and progress counters stay on your device.
- We use Google services to count visits and app usage, to find crashes, and to show ads. Those services receive device and usage data, described below.
- Ads on the website are always non-personalised.
On the website
Google Analytics. On our live website we use Google Analytics 4 to count page views (which page you opened, when, and your general browser and device information). We use this only to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. If the website or the game in your browser hits an error, it also sends Google Analytics a short error report: the error message and whether the game stopped, with no personal details. We use these only to fix bugs.
Google AdSense. The game page (/play) may show ads from Google AdSense beside the game on larger screens. We ask Google to serve only non-personalised ads, which are based on the page's content and your approximate location rather than on a profile of you. Google may still use cookies or similar technology to limit how often you see an ad and to detect fraud.
Fonts and the game engine. Every page loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, and the game page downloads part of the Flutter game engine from Google's servers (gstatic.com). Like any web request, these send your IP address and browser information to Google. They don't set cookies.
The game in your browser. The web version of the game doesn't use Firebase or AdMob. It saves your sound settings and a few counters (see What stays on your device) in your browser's local storage.
In the iPhone and Android apps
Firebase Analytics (public store versions only) records how the game is used: app opens, games started and finished, the opponent and game options you choose, and which screens and buttons you use. It doesn't record your name or anything you type. It's linked to an app-instance identifier, not to you personally.
Firebase Crashlytics sends a report when the app crashes or hits an error: what went wrong, plus device model, operating system version and app version. We use it only to fix bugs.
Firebase Remote Config downloads settings that let us switch app features on or off without an update. It sends basic device and app information to do that.
Google AdMob shows an occasional full-screen ad between games: never during your first five completed games, and at most one every five minutes. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier to choose and measure ads, subject to your device's ad settings (see Your choices).
Ratings. After you've played a few games, the app may ask your operating system to show its standard "rate this app" prompt. Apple or Google handles that prompt; we receive nothing from it.
What stays on your device
The game stores these on your device (or in your browser), and they aren't sent to us:
- Music and sound-effect volume.
- How many games you've completed, used to pace rating prompts and ads.
- Whether you've already been shown the rating prompt, and when the last ad was shown.
Deleting the app, or clearing this site's data in your browser, removes them.
What we don't collect
- No account, name, email address or phone number.
- No contacts, photos, microphone, camera or precise location.
- No online play in this version, so no other players see anything about you.
- We don't sell your information.
Third-party services
The services above are provided by Google, and Google handles the data they collect under its own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services
- Privacy and security in Firebase
- How Google uses advertising technology
Children
Pallanguzhi is a general-audience game that families play together. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children, and the game never asks anyone for personal details. If you believe a child's information has reached us, contact us and we'll help remove it.
Your choices
- Ads on your phone: on iPhone, the app won't track you across other companies' apps unless you allow it. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Google → Ads.
- On the web: you can block or clear cookies and site data in your browser, or use Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Everything at once: deleting the app or clearing this site's data removes what's stored on your device.
Changes to this policy
If the game starts collecting something new, for example when online play arrives, we'll update this page and its effective date before that change ships.
